Hello! Great that you wanted to read a bit more about me!
As an MP, I want Finland to continue to work for the wellbeing of the environment and the people. This includes focusing on education, the culture sector, equitable and accessible social and healthcare services and understanding economy from the perspective of Human Rights. In me, you would find a strong, dynamic Member of Parliament that would work hard and fully heartedly for a prosperous Finland that builds its strentghts' through wise and just decision making and legislation. We need all citizens to take part in the building of a good society.
My heart beats for the aims formulated in Agenda 2030 on ecological, economical and social sustainability, that is closely linked to peace, inclusion and the full enjoyment of Human Rights.
I am currently doing a PhD at Åbo Akademi at the Institute for Human Rights. Before that, I have been working for a Swedish Finnish NGO called FDUV, or Inclusion Finland and as a Physiotherapist both in the private and in the public sector. Currently I am employed at Arcada, a University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki. I am working at the Graduate School and Research, as a Research, Innovation and Development Specialist.
I have entered Finnish politics four years ago, always with the target to work at the national level, as an MP. Why? Because I think Finland needs more international MP's and persons who can open up for new possibilities and discussions in the political sphere.
In 2021, I was elected Vice President for SFP in Helsinki. In that same year SFP did its best election since almost 30 years back. SFP almost got a sixth mandate in Helsinki.
The political party that I candidated for in the Parliamentary elections and were held on 2nd of April 2023, is called SFP or RKP in finnish. SFP is a political party that almost made Finland get a female President, Elisbeth Rehn in 1994, that is before Tarja Halonen was elected. Rehn served as the Minister of Defence of Finland during 1990 to 1995 and as an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations during 1998 to 1999. She became the first female Minister of Defence of a European country, and sixth in the world.
SFP held two Minister positions in the government of Sanna Marin: the Minister of Justice Anna-Maija Henriksson (President of SFP) and the Minister of Nordic Cooperation and Equality Thomas Blomqvist.
My previous work includes working over a decade with persons with intellectual/learning disabilities. These persons and families have influenced my view on life a lot. I have also studied "Corporate Social Responsibility" at Hanken, Svenska Handelshögskolan in 2018-2019. I am a Physiotherapist and hold a Master's Degree in Social services and Healthcare.
My international experience includes several episodes of completing studies abroad with focus on physiotherapy, pediatric neurology as well as studies in human rights.
I have been a member of Svenska Kvinnoförbundet i Sörnäs, a liberal feminist organization in Helsinki. The organization supports women that are active in politics in Finland.
